ABOUT US
Founded by Duane Cogar and Debbie Johnson, KittenAid,
Inc. is dedicated to saving as many feline lives as possible. We are
registered as a non-profit corporation in the state
of Michigan.
After careful consideration, our Board of Directors
defined our goals to focus on the following areas deemed most in need
of attention:
Free and low-cost spay/neuter clinics
Feral cat colonies actually provide a “community service” by
helping to control rodent problems, but colony management is essential.
Preventing over-population of the colony is paramount, but monitoring
the health of these feral cats is equally important. Recognizing that
euthanizing a feral cat colony simply provides another group the space
to move in, many communities are advocating “Trap-Neuter-Release” programs.
To encourage such programs, KittenAid supports free and low-cost spay/neuter
clinics.
Fostering and adoption agencies
Abandoned kittens must often be raised to adoption age by volunteer foster
parents when community shelters become over-crowded. These foster parents
need assistance with food, shelter, and health care for the orphans
until they can be adopted, and KittenAid is here to help.
Rescue organizations
KittenAid is striving to build a national referral network for the hundreds
of local rescue organizations located across the United States. The
internet is vast and can be overwhelming for individuals searching
for local agencies or organizations. We are also developing a
sponsorship program to aid in connecting individuals desiring to help
with rescue organizations requiring financial assistance.
Online Help
We provide an online help service that is non-categorized. Whether a
need is for information, referral, funding or a specific product,
we have the staff to aid in a solution.
Inspired by Kris, a feisty, pregnant, stray cat, KittenAid
was born of a lifelong love for cats and the desire to make a difference
in the
world. Our mission is to serve as a platform for connecting need and
assistance. Our goals are to save the lives, promote the
health, and control
the
population
of
our
feline
friends.
Our vision
looks to
the day when all cats have a family to call their own.
